SAINTS DES DERNIERS JOURS DEVOIR<\/span> SOUVENEZ-VOUS DE LEUR HISTOIRE<\/span><\/h2>\n

Historien de l'\u00e9glise vestige<\/span><\/p>\n

            Au sein du monde jud\u00e9o-chr\u00e9tien, seules trois grandes organisations religieuses sont li\u00e9es \u00e0 leur histoire : les juifs, les catholiques et en particulier les saints des derniers jours (de toutes convictions et croyances). Nous sommes porteurs de ce point de vue. Les saints tiennent un r\u00f4le tr\u00e8s sp\u00e9cifique dans l'histoire chr\u00e9tienne et, de fait, sans le savoir, dans \u00ab l'interpr\u00e9tation chr\u00e9tienne de l'histoire \u00bb. Saint Augustin (354-430 ap. J.-C.), dans son Aveux, <\/em>sugg\u00e8re que l'histoire chr\u00e9tienne suit un cours rectiligne, in\u00e9branlable, de la Gen\u00e8se \u00e0 l'Apocalypse. L'histoire ne se r\u00e9p\u00e8te PAS. Il y a toujours eu des \u00e9v\u00e9nements qui semblent similaires \u00e0 des \u00e9v\u00e9nements ant\u00e9rieurs, mais ils sont toujours uniques. Augustin soutient que le Christ \u00e9tait au commencement et sera avec nous \u00e0 la fin. Sion n'est pas seulement un concept biblique, il existe. Cette id\u00e9e souligne la \u00ab ligne droite de 'l'histoire chr\u00e9tienne' d'Augustin. \u201d <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

            Les th\u00e9ologiens protestants modernes se sont largement \u00e9loign\u00e9s de la vision en ligne droite. Certains soutiennent que l'histoire se r\u00e9p\u00e8te, d'autres ont opt\u00e9 pour une perspective historique cyclique. L'histoire des saints des derniers jours r\u00e9affirme les anciens concepts d'Augustin. Les biblistes et ceux qui lisent les \u00e9crits des \u00ab P\u00e8res chr\u00e9tiens \u00bb sont d'accord avec lui. Il a continu\u00e9 \u00e0 d\u00e9velopper la "th\u00e9orie de la ligne droite" dans son dernier livre, La Cit\u00e9 de Dieu.<\/em> Citant Paul dans le Nouveau Testament, Augustin reconna\u00eet publiquement que le Christ est le seul v\u00e9hicule du salut. Il \u00e9crit, en partie, \u00ab J'ai embrass\u00e9 le m\u00e9diateur entre Dieu et l'homme, l'Homme Christ J\u00e9sus, qui est au-dessus de tout. Dieu b\u00e9ni \u00e0 jamais, qui m'appelle et dit : "Je suis le Chemin, la V\u00e9rit\u00e9 et la Vie". . . .\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

            La pri\u00e8re d'Augustin \u00ab Pour l'amour de Dieu \u00bb nous est toujours applicable, aujourd'hui, seize cents ans plus tard. La pri\u00e8re se lit comme suit : <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00c9coute, Seigneur, ma demande et ne souffre pas mon \u00e2me<\/span><\/p>\n

                                   d\u00e9faillir sous ton ch\u00e2timent. Ne me laisse pas <\/span><\/p>\n

                                   d\u00e9faillir en te confessant l'amour bienveillant par lequel<\/span><\/p>\n

                                   Tu m'as d\u00e9livr\u00e9 de mes mauvaises voies. Sois plus doux<\/span><\/p>\n

                                   pour moi que tous les attraits que j'ai poursuivis autrefois, que<\/span><\/p>\n

                                    Je peux t'aimer de toutes mes forces et serrer ta main<\/span><\/p>\n

                                    de tout mon c\u0153ur, afin que je sois d\u00e9livr\u00e9 de tout<\/span><\/p>\n

                                    tentations jusqu'\u00e0 la fin. . . .<\/span><\/p>\n

            Ceux d'entre nous qui croient \u00e0 l'exp\u00e9rience de Joseph dans le bosquet, \u00e0 la v\u00e9racit\u00e9 du Livre de Mormon et aux r\u00e9v\u00e9lations donn\u00e9es dans les Doctrine et Alliances, peuvent facilement voir la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 d'une compr\u00e9hension et d'une appr\u00e9ciation compl\u00e8tes de notre histoire et de la mani\u00e8re dont cette histoire se reproduit La vue en ligne droite d'Augustin. Alors que notre perspective religieuse particuli\u00e8re ne date que de 1830, la Restauration est, en elle-m\u00eame, un t\u00e9moignage de \u00ab l'interpr\u00e9tation chr\u00e9tienne de l'histoire \u00bb. Et il s'ensuit que l'\u00c9glise Remnant est le v\u00e9ritable successeur de l'\u00c9vangile de la Restauration de 1830.      <\/span><\/p>\n
