Historiador da Igreja Remanescente<\/span><\/p>\n

            Dentro do mundo judaico-crist\u00e3o, apenas tr\u00eas grandes organiza\u00e7\u00f5es religiosas est\u00e3o ligadas \u00e0s suas hist\u00f3rias: judeus, cat\u00f3licos e, em particular, santos dos \u00faltimos dias (de todas as convic\u00e7\u00f5es e cren\u00e7as). Somos detentores deste ponto de vista. Os santos t\u00eam um papel muito espec\u00edfico na hist\u00f3ria crist\u00e3 e, de fato, sem saber, na \u201cinterpreta\u00e7\u00e3o crist\u00e3 da hist\u00f3ria\u201d. Santo Agostinho (354-430 d.C.), em sua Confiss\u00f5es, <\/em>sugere que a hist\u00f3ria crist\u00e3 segue um curso reto, inabal\u00e1vel, de G\u00eanesis a Apocalipse. A hist\u00f3ria N\u00c3O se repete. Sempre houve eventos que parecem ser semelhantes a eventos anteriores, mas s\u00e3o sempre \u00fanicos. Agostinho argumenta que Cristo estava no princ\u00edpio e estar\u00e1 conosco no fim. Si\u00e3o n\u00e3o \u00e9 apenas um conceito b\u00edblico, ela existe. Essa ideia ressalta a \u201clinha reta de 'Hist\u00f3ria Crist\u00e3' de Agostinho\u201d. \u201d <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

            Os te\u00f3logos protestantes modernos se afastaram amplamente da vis\u00e3o da linha reta. Alguns sustentam que a hist\u00f3ria se repete, outros estabeleceram uma perspectiva hist\u00f3rica c\u00edclica. A hist\u00f3ria dos Santos dos \u00daltimos Dias reafirma os conceitos antigos de Agostinho. Eruditos b\u00edblicos e aqueles que l\u00eaem os escritos dos \u201cPais Crist\u00e3os\u201d, concordam com ele. Ele continuou a desenvolver a \u201cteoria da linha reta\u201d em seu livro final, A Cidade de Deus.<\/em> Citando Paulo no Novo Testamento, Agostinho reconhece publicamente que Cristo \u00e9 o \u00fanico ve\u00edculo para a salva\u00e7\u00e3o. Ele escreve, em parte: \u201cEu abracei o mediador entre Deus e o homem, o Homem Cristo Jesus, que est\u00e1 acima de tudo. Deus aben\u00e7oou para sempre, que me chama e diz: 'Eu sou o Caminho, a Verdade e a Vida'. . . .\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

            A ora\u00e7\u00e3o de Agostinho \u201cPelo Amor de Deus\u201d ainda \u00e9 aplic\u00e1vel a n\u00f3s, hoje, mil e seiscentos anos depois. A ora\u00e7\u00e3o diz o seguinte: <\/span><\/p>\n

Ouve, \u00f3 Senhor, a minha peti\u00e7\u00e3o e n\u00e3o sofras a minha alma<\/span><\/p>\n

                                   desmaiar sob Teu castigo. Permita-me n\u00e3o <\/span><\/p>\n

                                   desfalece em confessar-te a benignidade, pela qual<\/span><\/p>\n

                                   Tu me livraste dos meus maus caminhos. Seja mais doce<\/span><\/p>\n

                                   para mim do que todas as sedu\u00e7\u00f5es que uma vez persegui, que<\/span><\/p>\n

                                    Eu posso te amar com todas as minhas for\u00e7as, e apertar Tua m\u00e3o<\/span><\/p>\n

                                    de todo o meu cora\u00e7\u00e3o, para que eu seja livre de todas<\/span><\/p>\n

            Aqueles de n\u00f3s que acreditam na experi\u00eancia de Joseph no Bosque, na veracidade do Livro de M\u00f3rmon e nas revela\u00e7\u00f5es dadas em Doutrina e Conv\u00eanios, podem ver prontamente a necessidade de um pleno entendimento e aprecia\u00e7\u00e3o de nossa hist\u00f3ria e como essa hist\u00f3ria se reproduz A vis\u00e3o de linha reta de Agostinho. Enquanto nossa perspectiva religiosa particular data apenas de 1830, a Restaura\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9, por si s\u00f3, um testemunho da \u201cInterpreta\u00e7\u00e3o Crist\u00e3 da Hist\u00f3ria\u201d. E assim segue que a Igreja Remanescente \u00e9 a verdadeira sucessora do Evangelho da Restaura\u00e7\u00e3o de 1830.      <\/span><\/p>\n
