South Central District Reunion June 16-22, 2018

The Remnant Record 2018 – Volume 1
It was the perfect week in a years-gone-by setting, and was filled with the Spirit, spice, and nature. From the bell ringing each morning to the campfires and s’mores treats every night, there was much to do in between.
Something new this year was the Children’s Power Hour, or as some called it, a children’s prayer and testimony service. Each child prayed out loud every day in front of other children, and for some this was an entirely new experience. Many gave a testimony for the first time. Inspiring worship settings set off intimate prayer services, great classes, and wonderful preaching services with as many as three solos every night!
We had a motor boat for rides and fishing, a lake to swim, where Elder Denny Post good naturedly received lots of love from the children in the form of water balloons and dunking, extremely scenic trails to hike, and a splash pad for fun. The women crafted “stained glass” window art, the men had their big story swap club, the kids climbed rocks, and everyone chose items from a table loaded with free books. An award should go out to the best craft class ever when young and old all joined in to learn how to make fried pies! We were entertained by the kids, had a basketball court, volleyball, horseshoes, and ruthless ping pong, so never once was anyone bored! And for those who found a little extra time, they molded and painted concrete stepping stones.
The food—oh, the food was phenomenal—with chefs Elder Frank and Frances Potter and an apostle, high priest, and elder serving as professional dishwashers to lead the way. At the end of the week, we left the campgrounds with new friends, a lifetime of memories, and a deeper love for the Lord and his people.
Since we own these campgrounds, the cost was less than 80% of previous years’ reunions, and we even had money left over! God has truly blessed the Remnant Church. Come and see!
