Bound For The Kingdom!
Presiding Bishop W. Kevin Romer
In the year 2000, as the Lord was moving mightily to renew His Church again upon the earth, the Remnant Saints semi-formally adopted the mantra, “WHATEVER IT TAKES.” The Lord was again calling those that heard His voice to come together. Many people responded, being willing and obedient towards completing the task the Lord placed before them, willing to make whatever sacrifice was required. The “Proclamation to the Faithful” went out and hundreds responded. The Lord called the Church into order and the upper quorums of leadership were reestablished. After several years, and much prayer and fasting, the Lord sent a prophet of the lineage of Joseph to lead us as well as bringing into the Church a presiding bishop. The Church became renewed and was ready to move forward.
The Lord’s promises are sure! He blessed us with the gift of the Gathering Place and the Saints responded with “WHATEVER IT TAKES.” Over $2,500,000 dollars was donated to develop those facilities and grounds into the conference and worship centers we enjoy today. True to His promise, He has met with us there often.
With prophetic leadership once again available, and the Bishopric again in place, the Law of Consecration was called for by the Lord and reintroduced to the Church. The Saints again responded with “WHATEVER IT TAKES” and $2,500,000 was consecrated and given to the Storehouse. The Lord directed us to purchase land in eastern Jackson County and to build a ‘close community’. The Saints have responded: seven homes have been built and an additional seven lots have been sold. Zion is beginning to unfold before our very eyes.
The Lord’s Word is true and never fails. He does nothing until He reveals His will through the eyes and voice of His prophets. We were told of the moral decay, political upheaval, natural calamity and economic adversity that would come upon us – and now it is here. We were told to “prepare,” and again the Saints responded with “WHATEVER IT TAKES.” Over $400,000 was received and the spiritual retreat center was built at the Gathering Place. Enough food and supplies were gathered to feed and house over three hundred people for six months. We have known that the day would come when the Saints would gather and some would come with perhaps nothing but the shirts on their backs. Now we have begun to prepare for that event.
The Lord instructed us to be ready to reach out to those around the world, as well as those who were once “of the faith” who would again respond to His Spirit which He was already sending before us. Again, the Saints responded with “WHATEVER IT TAKES” and missionaries were sent around the world, baptizing and confirming the Holy Ghost upon all who would listen and respond. Over $800,000 has been given to support their efforts.
“Wherefore, settle this in your hearts, that ye will do the things which I shall teach, and command you. For which of you intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have money to finish his work? Lest, unhappily, after he has laid the foundation and is not able to finish his work, all who behold, begin to mock him, Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish. And this he said, signifying there should not any man follow him, unless he was able to continue; saying, Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand, to meet him who cometh against him with twenty thousand.
