Rules & Resolutions for the Remnant Church

Rules & Resolutions (2019 Edition)

What are Rules & Resolutions? The General Conference of 1950 authorized the appointment of a committee to consider previously published statements on church procedure, “making such changes as they shall deem wise, and submitting them to the First Presidency for publication at an early date." These laws of the church are not scripture, but are resolutions and amendments voted on by the Conference body, generally presented by the First Presidency, a quorum or order, for inclusion. The Church started accumulating these in the mid-1800s. Rules and resolutions are used to govern the day to day activities of the church and while binding on the church as an organization, do not override scripture. While rules and resolutions may change over time allowing the church to function effectively in any age, God does not change.
